What are the requirements to join?
To join, you'll need an active iRacing subscription, a clean sporting history, and dedication to clean racing standards. Some series feature iRating or Safety Rating minimums, with all specific requirements clearly outlined in each championship's regulations section.
Are there different skill divisions?
Yes. Our championship structure features progressive skill divisions, with each series representing a competitive tier—from MX-5 through IMSA Endurance. Beyond skill separation, prize pools are divided by class, ensuring fair reward distribution across all divisions. This means drivers compete for appropriate prizes within their competitive tier, creating meaningful stakes at every skill level while maintaining clear advancement pathways.
Are all races broadcasted?
We are committed to providing a professional broadcast for every race in the Onyx SimRacing league. While our goal is to cover all events, we focus on delivering a consistently engaging viewing experience. To combat the often-stagnant presentation of sim racing, we employ professional broadcasters and commentators who provide dynamic commentary, strategic insight, and compelling narratives. Our production is designed not only for drivers to analyze their performance but also to captivate the casual viewer, transforming every race into a watchable and exciting spectacle. Streams are available live on our Twitch and YouTube channels.
How can i be promoted to a higher division
Advancement to a higher division within Onyx SimRacing is primarily governed by iRating and Safety Rating, ensuring a competitive and respectful environment. However, consistent, high-caliber performance is also a key pathway to promotion. Our system recognizes drivers who demonstrate exceptional pace, racecraft, and reliability throughout the season. Therefore, while strong ratings are essential, a series of standout performances and sustained excellence can also secure your advancement.
How does the penalty system work?
Our penalty system is governed by a clear set of sporting regulations designed to ensure fair and safe competition. All reported incidents are reviewed by our race stewards, who examine multiple camera angles and telemetry data to make an objective and fair decision. Penalties may be applied during or after a race session. If a driver believes a penalty is unjust, they may formally appeal the decision by submitting a detailed report through our website’s contact form or by opening a ticket in our designated Discord channel. Each appeal is reviewed by a separate steward panel for a final ruling. Our goal is to make racing fair and competetive.
